How Bet-MT is paid for, and what that means for its links.

This page explains how Bet-MT is paid for and what that means for the links you find on the site. It applies together with the editorial policy and the disclaimer.

How the site is funded

Bet-MT is free to read and carries no subscription. It is funded by paid placements: a business can pay a fee to have a link to its own website placed in an article on the site. That fee is the arrangement in full. The desk takes no commission from any operator, it is not paid per click, per sign-up or per deposit, and it does not share in what a reader spends or loses with anyone it links to.

What a paid placement does and does not buy

A paid placement buys a link. It does not buy a ranking or a recommendation. As the editorial policy says, Bet-MT does not accept payment to rank an operator, and nothing on the site is a recommendation to gamble. The desk recommends nobody. A placed link does not change the figures on a page, which carry their source like every other figure on the site, and it does not change how the page describes the law.

Placements are ordinary text links and look the same as other links on the page. Links to statutes, regulators and public agencies are placed by the desk as sources and are not sold.

Links to gambling operators

When a link leads to a gambling operator, that is not a statement that the operator is licensed in your state or that its products are legal for you. Online gambling is regulated state by state in the United States, and the same operator can be licensed in one state and not in another. Before you register anywhere, check that the operator holds a licence for the place where you are, read its terms and make sure you meet its minimum age. Gambling content on this site is written for readers aged 21 or over.

Pages about other countries

Some older guides describe gambling in other countries and are kept in their own language; they are listed on the translation register. A link on such a page relates to that market and says nothing about what is allowed in Montana.

No affiliate tracking

Because the desk is not paid per visitor, links on Bet-MT do not carry affiliate tracking codes, and the site does not pass your identity to the websites it links to. The server sets two first-party cookies to count visits, mz_src and mz_vid; they are not shared with advertisers. Details are in the cookie policy and the privacy notice. The website you reach through a link applies its own cookies and its own privacy policy.

Gambling risk

Gambling always carries the risk of losing money, and no link, guide or bonus changes that. Decide in advance how much you can afford to lose and stop when you reach it. If it is causing harm to you or to someone close to you, contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738), by call, text or chat, 24 hours a day, every day of the year (1800myreset.org). The helpline is not an emergency service: if you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911, or 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
